All About the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk

When you’re visiting Rehoboth Beach, there are a few activities that you just have to experience before you leave. One of those attractions is the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk.

This boardwalk has won multiple awards from national publications and is a favorite hangout spot among locals and visitors alike.

While you’re staying in one of our Rehoboth Beach vacation rentals, make sure you carve out some time to explore the boardwalk!

The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk is located about two minutes away from our rentals at Seachange. Simply head west on Baltimore Avenue toward North 1st Street, then turn right at the first cross street onto North 1st Street. Then, turn right at the first cross street onto Maryland Avenue, and you’ve reached the boardwalk!

The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk has been a staple attraction of the community for years. There’s no surprise that the boardwalk has been the recipient of awards like Coastal Living Magazine’s “One of the Nation’s 10 Great Coastal Boardwalks” and American Profile Magazine’s “America’s Best Boardwalk!”

No matter what time of year you visit the one-mile-long boardwalk, you’ll always find plenty to do. In addition to the staple stores and restaurants, the boardwalk hosts tons of events throughout the year, so there’s something new going on all the time. You can visit again and again and have a unique experience every time!

The boardwalk and its shops are open daily at 9 a.m. and is open year-round. Dogs are prohibited from May through September but are welcomed (with leashes) from October through April. From mid-May to mid-September, you can ride your bike on the boardwalk from 5 a.m. until 10 a.m.

Things to Do

One of the biggest draws of Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk is the food! You’ll find all your typical fair favorites here, like mouthwatering funnel cake at the Funnel Cake Factory. Be sure to get the Big Daddy Funnel Cake to make sure you have enough to share with everyone! For a different kind of sweet treat, check out Candy Kitchen, featuring everything from taffy and fudge to chocolate-covered pretzels, gummy worms, and everything in between.

Sometimes, you just want to sit down and cool off with a delicious treat. The Ice Cream Store is the best place for that. You’ll find custom-made desserts and homemade, hand-dipped ice cream. There are more than 100 flavors to choose from! You can also head to Dreamer Coffee & Juice Bar if you’re craving a coffee, lemonade, juice, or smoothie. Want to take a walk on the wild side? Visit Mug & Spoon for one of their signature WILD milkshakes!

If you don’t want sweets, that’s okay, too. Visit Thrasher’s French Fries for the incredible salt and vinegar boardwalk fries. It’s the classic boardwalk treat that you just can’t afford to miss out on! Grotto Pizza is the place to go when you’re in the mood for a slice, or if you’re looking for fresh Delaware seafood, make sure you visit Obie’s by the Sea.

What better way to enjoy quality time with your loved ones than by experiencing the most thrilling amusement park rides? The boardwalk is full of them! Funland is your home for all the classic fair rides you know and love, and they also have an awesome arcade where you can try to score big and take home the grand prize. Looking for a scare? Head into the Haunted Mansion, if you dare!
