Rehoboth Beach is a haven for city-dwellers in neighboring states. It’s sandy shores play host to a plethora of fun activities. An oceanfront boardwalk, shopping, an amusement park, and watersports are just a few of the amenities and things to do in Rehoboth Beach.
But this quaint seaside town is also known for its top-rated restaurants that cater to the distinguished palate. While vacationing in a Rehoboth Beach rental, be sure to try some of the local cuisine – especially the seafood!
Below are six seafood spots you can’t miss during your stay at Delaware Shores vacation rentals.

Henlopen City Oyster House
This popular oyster bar rarely has an empty seat on a Saturday night. This eatery is small and lively – the perfect spot for a special occasion or date night while on vacation. Henlopen City specializes in oysters – the impressive raw bar is a testament to this – but also serves plenty of local seafood delicacies. Grab a pint of crisp craft beer to accompany your meal on a warm evening.
Stop by for their daily happy hour from 3 to 5 p.m. for specials on oysters and drinks – you won’t be disappointed.

Fins Fish House & Raw Bar
Fins Fish House is known for traditional East Coast staples. Seafood chowder, crab cakes, and lobster and shrimp mac and cheese all come highly recommended by loyal patrons. What’s unique about this eatery is that they offer a “build-your-own” fish board where hungry diners choose their type of fish, preparation method – broiled, grilled, blackened, and crab-stuffed, and type of sauce (we recommend the lemon béchamel).

Claws Seafood House
Claws has all kinds of seafood, but it’s perhaps best known for its lobster. Head to the “Steamed” section of the menu and you’ll find whole Maine Lobster, peel-and-eat shrimp, and snow crab legs. Or try the Steamed Feast, which includes a little bit of everything. Just a couple blocks from the beach boardwalk, this is a great place to grab a bite after a day in the sun.
This crab shack is small and homey, with a long front porch and a wooden interior reminiscent of days gone by.

Fork and Flask
Fork and Flask is in the town of Rehoboth but is well worth a trip inland for its inventive American cuisine. This restaurant allows its contemporary side to shine with farm-to-table dishes, local seafood, small plates, and spectacular brunch. For brunch, try the Lobster and Avocado Toast. For dinner, the Chesapeake Bay Fresh Catch for 2: a whole fish with mussels, clams, shrimp, crab, and chorizo-saffron rice.

Big Fish Grill
Founded in 1997, this award-winning restaurant remains one of Delaware’s finest. Big Fish Grill is a classic East Coast seafood joint that has enough variety for the whole family. Share a Pot o’ Mussels or a smoked tuna dip to get your meal started, then choose one of the delicious fish dishes as a main. Enjoy a whole lobster, baked oysters, and Fried Alaskan Cod Sandwich.
Want to learn to cook seafood Delaware-style? Take one of their seasonal cooking classes and learn to make one of the delicious items off the menu. If you’re traveling with a group, The Big Fish Grill can do private cooking classes in your Rehoboth Beach rental’s kitchen.
